Do you need any specific knowledge to play an escape game at Game Over Lyon?
No, and that's the whole point of this game. It is accessible to everyone, without any prior knowledge. In an escape game room, you will face several types of puzzles to solve and various skills to deploy. For example, you might have to search for clues, observe, handle objects or puzzles, listen, show curiosity, etc. These qualities, when combined as a team, help you progress in the game. The escape game is a leisure activity accessible to all.
Do you need to be athletic to play an escape game at Game Over Lyon?
No, no level of fitness is required to play an escape game. However, our room Jack the Ripper requires climbing up and down a high step. If you have reduced mobility, please refer to the "Comfort and Accessibility" section.
How does an escape game at Game Over Lyon work?
How does an escape game at Game Over Lyon take place?
Upon arrival, 10 minutes before your reservation time, we ask you to store your belongings, including your mobile phones, in locked lockers. You will have access to the restrooms, and you can drink a glass of water and enjoy a candy ;-)
Then your game master will explain the rules and your mission.
During your session, a game master will monitor you remotely to assist if needed and ensure you have a great experience.
At the end of your session, your game master will offer you a debrief, answer your questions, and take a few souvenir photos so that your experience remains unforgettable.
How long does an escape game at Game Over Lyon last?
We ask you to arrive 10 minutes before your reservation time. You will then have about 1 hour of game time (depending on your performance ;-)). At the end of the game, your game master will answer any questions you have and offer to take a souvenir photo. You should therefore plan for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes on site.
For example, if your session is at 2:00 PM, you will finish at 3:30 PM.
If you have any time constraints, please let us know in advance so we can plan accordingly.
How should I dress for an escape game?
You can dress however you like; the important thing is to be comfortable. You may sometimes need to crouch, crawl, climb stairs, or step over obstacles, so it is best to choose a comfortable outfit that allows you to move freely.
Are we filmed during the game?
Yes, you will be filmed and listened to by your game master so that they can follow your adventure. However, nothing is recorded.
Can we take photos or videos during the game?
No, you will not be allowed to film or take photos during your session. This is to preserve the secrecy of the puzzles and mechanisms.
However, at the end of your session, your game master will take photos that will be sent to you immediately. Thus, you will have a memento of your experience.
What measures do you take to ensure player safety?
Throughout your session, we monitor you remotely via cameras and microphones. You will be able to communicate easily with your game master by voice. Additionally, all rooms are equipped with an "emergency button" that can unlock the closure systems with a simple gesture. You will never be truly locked inside the room, and you will never be left on your own.
Who can participate in an escape game at Game Over Lyon?
How many people are required to form a team?
A minimum of 2 players is required to form a team, with a maximum of 6 players. Our 3 rooms can each accommodate 6 players. Therefore, we can host 18 people simultaneously across our 3 rooms.
If you wish to organize a birthday party, a bachelorette or bachelor party, or even a team building event, do not hesitate to request a quote.
We are 7 or 8 players; can we play together in the same room?
We do not recommend it. Most escape game rooms are designed to be played by teams of roughly 4 players. Doubling the number of players means there won't be enough space or enough puzzles to satisfy everyone. Therefore, if you are a group of 7 or 8 players, for everyone's comfort and satisfaction, we advise booking 2 rooms at the same time and splitting into 2 teams.
I check the schedule and book one or two roomsWill my team have the room to itself?
Yes, whether you are a team of 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 players, the game room is exclusively reserved for you. You will not have to share your session with other teams.
Will I be separated from my teammates?
No, our game procedures do not involve separating you. You will remain together throughout the session.
What is the minimum age to play an escape game at Game Over Lyon?
8 years old. But note, we do not accept children on their own. Up until the age of 16, children and teenagers must be accompanied by at least one adult who will be with them IN the game room. This is mandatory and non-negotiable ;-)
Can your escape rooms be played in English?
Yes, all our rooms can be played in English. When booking, do not forget to check the "English" option so that we can adapt the written clues in the room. Your game master will give you the briefs and debriefs in English and will provide clues in English throughout the session.

What time should I arrive?
We ask you to arrive 10 minutes before your reservation time. For example, if you have booked for 2:00 PM, please arrive at 1:50 PM.
Please do not arrive too early, as you may have to wait outside, and of course, please do not arrive late.
And what if I'm late?
Any delay of more than 15 minutes will automatically cancel the reservation with no possible refund.
Are you open on Sundays?
Yes! From 10 AM to 10 PM.
And what about during school holidays and public holidays?
Game Over Lyon is open 7 days a week during school holidays and on all public holidays.
How do I get to Game Over Lyon?
Our escape game is located 230 meters (a 3-minute walk) from the Garibaldi metro station (Line D) and 350 meters (a 5-minute walk) from the Saxe Gambetta metro station (Line B).
The C11 bus (Abondance stop) is 190 meters away (a 2-minute walk).
You will also find a Vélo'v bike station at 299 rue Duguesclin, 250 meters away (a 3-minute walk).
Do you have parking?
No, we do not have a parking lot reserved for customers. You can park on the streets around our escape game (paid street parking provided by the city of Lyon), or choose the Bonnefoi parking, located at 6 rue Bonnefoi, which is 700 meters away (an 11-minute walk).
Is it possible to privatize your escape game for an event?
Yes, if you are a large group, you can book all 3 of our escape game rooms at the same time.

Can we bring our own food and drinks? Can we host a birthday snack?
No, because we do not have a space that allows you to settle in and comfortably enjoy a snack.

How far in advance should I book my escape game?
If you have a specific day and time in mind, or if you are organizing an event, such as a bachelorette or bachelor party, a birthday, or a team building, we advise you to book well in advance. Keep in mind that Saturday slots and school holiday times fill up particularly fast.
If you feel like playing an escape game in Lyon at the last minute, if you're in the 7th district, or if you wish to take shelter from the rain or the heat while enjoying an original and immersive activity, simply check our schedule. It is updated in real time!
And what if I want to cancel my booking?
All reservations are final. No cancellation will result in a refund.
If you are unable to attend, we can postpone a reservation if we are notified at least 24 hours in advance.
And what if a player is unable to attend?
Seats are not assigned. If a member of your team has a last-minute issue, you can replace them.
If you cannot find a replacement, we will adjust the overall price of your reservation and issue a voucher for the difference. You can use this voucher for a future reservation.
And what if we've been drinking?
For obvious safety reasons, we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who is intoxicated, without any possible refund or compensation.

Are your rooms accessible for people with mobility impairments?
The room The War of the Throne is accessible for people with reduced mobility and wheelchair users. You will also be able to sit down if needed during the session.
Top Secret and Jack the Ripper are not rooms adapted for wheelchair users.
In Top Secret, you will have to overcome an obstacle by stepping over it.
In Jack the Ripper, you will have to climb up and down a high step.

Are they suitable for pregnant women?
This naturally depends on how far along your pregnancy is and your overall condition.
The War of the Throne poses no physical challenges for pregnant women.
Top Secret as well, as there is just one obstacle to step over.
Jack the Ripper is the most "physical" of the rooms, as it requires climbing up and down a high step.
In all 3 rooms, you will always find a seat to rest if needed.

Are they suitable for the deaf and hard of hearing?
The War of the Throne can be played by deaf individuals.
Top Secret and Jack the Ripper can be played by deaf individuals if there is at least one hearing person in the group.
Otherwise, if the group consists solely of deaf individuals, we will need to make slight adaptations; please inform us in advance by writing to [email protected].
We will ask you to keep a mobile phone in the room so that we can send you clues via SMS if needed.
Are they suitable for claustrophobic individuals?
Our rooms cover several dozen square meters and you will never be confined to a small space, nor will you have to go through a narrow passage.
You can exit the room at any time by pressing an emergency button if you do not feel well.
And since a game master accompanies you remotely throughout your session, they will be able to reassure or help you if needed.
